Cadge & Relic Est. 2010
With an award from Fife Contemporary Arts & Crafts, Carole Robinson and Rachel Hindle created their first glass art postcard collection. Inspired by Scottish culture, history and verse they set out to design bespoke, yet affordable memories in glass.
Using top quality photographs and the best fusible glass, Carole and Rachel work around themes of travel, adventure, landscape and seascape to produce their original glass postcards.
Presently, all photographs are taken locally and regionally with a view to working nationally and internationally, all glass postcards are considered and constructed from a small studio in Kinghorn, Fife.
Their trading name evolved during a period of research; looking at Scottish customs, history and language. ‘Cadge’ – Early 17th century noun, denoting an itinerant dealer. Travelling from place to place. ‘Relic’ – An object surviving from an earlier time, especially one of historic interest.
Carole and Rachel can custom make their glass postcards using your personal photographs to meet individual specifications for any occasion.
Cadge and Relic’s glass art postcards start from £40 including a hand decorated, recycled presentation box.
Cadge and Relic’s Ethos:
Carole and Rachel have the same views when it comes to being ‘green’. They both work with local, re-claimed and recycled products, wherever possible, in order to run a resourceful business.
